Shie your parents are probably too far gone to reason with. I would get a lawyer and seek emancipation.
Crissy you may have a chance with an arbiter. Some counselors do this.
This is an ambitious and scary thought but is it possible to set up an online arbitration site for some of these teens? I don't have the time to do it alone but would volunteer a day or two a week.
The last 5 threads about teens being abused has left me sick. A lot of the time the family has another sickness that the adults are trying to avoid so they make their teen a problem. The Red Herring Affect. Parents who are about to divorce but dont know it yet frequently do this.
If parents could be brought to a discussion with an arbiter it might help. The laws are a LONG way from being changed.

Thankz for your advice but i cant get emancipated. I dont have a job because they wont sign my work permit, and personally if i was free of them the first thing i would do is move to cali or chicago and live wit my friends. but you have to have a stable job and be able to financially support yourself t be emancipated. I cant move into the house of a relative cause there either supporting my parents or having problems of their own. My cousin does exstacy and lives with her bf cause her moms a skitzo. I cant goto a foster home, because then it would jus be worse then before. Someone is gettin paid to take care of me. It would be like a full-time mootching!

Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. An arbitration site would try to bring parents and their kids together for some personal venting that is moderated by some adult who knows how to make peace. Kind of like an online counselor.
I think I'm being naive and maybe ahead of my time on this one. I did some of this stuff back in the 90's because all of the runawasys came to my house. Being an adult who didn't want to go to jail I would try to moderate the problems they were having and get them back into a more comfortable home.
It was a labor of love but none one with too many success stories. There were a few and those were very rewarding.
