View Full Version : Pr0x! List II

Kev
May 19th, 2005, 08:35 AM
The old list was getting cluttered up and guests have been viewing it so I have retired it. This list is basically the same thing except hopefully w/ less chitchat and more pr0x!s. I also un-hyperlinked the addresses. If you are using a different censorware program I would like to know what is and isn't blocked. If you find any discrepencies in the list I would also like to be informed. Also write pr0x! all funny like that so no one from the censorware companies finds this thread by searching the web.

I heart you. Pr0xie be the fun. I actually had to use a pr0xy today because of really weird Norton Internet Security, which DOESN'T block me from most sites, but it blocked me from Skeptic.com for some reason, which is really quite weird. And the thing is, I'm "old enough" to see anything I want. (I am 19 tomorrow)  (I am at home right now and there are filters here. At the library there are none.)

THANKS FOR THE PR0x!es!

added note: Fuck this! After today I am never using this computer at home again! The library computers are uncensored, and I have freedom of informational access there. Norton blocks things for the stupidest reason, and it blocked P e a c e f i r e as well (as "crime") and other skeptic-oriented sites as "religion" or "New Age". I can see why; they're antithetical to Symantec's purpose. If I could disable it or do something to it without it being detected I'd love to. And no, I won't reformat the computer. I just want to get rid of the sodding Norton shit, or at least prevent it from blocking me or eliminating it from Start Up programs! It's making me mad! God damnit I wish my laptop's AC adapter were working so that I didn't have to go out or stay home and put up with this bedratted censorship.  :madban: GRRRR!!!!

Yes, this stuff works great. You can get lists of 100s of these IPs off the internet, but on many networks users are blocked from the internet options menue and cant change that number.

All the pr0xi's I tried are blocked. Any of you know anything that gets around it? It blocked me from National Geographic's website, reason "Pornographic/Adult Content", because there was a picture of penguins having intercourse.:naughty:

A lot of times, replacing the http in the URL with https will get around the blocks. Otherwise, it's just a matter of finding a proxy that is not blocked yet.

Keeya
April 12th, 2006, 11:57 AM
Tigre...

Explaine HOW to do that, and I can try it...

Email me at Keeya@hushmail.com

Also...

I don't know how to get arounf the NET blocks, but anything else on the computer is simple...

One really easy way to access alot of blocked material, is to simply create a new folder on the desktop.

Lemme guess.

"MY SCHOOL BLOCKED THAT FEATURE!"

So did mine.

Open Microsoft Word, or anything else that lets you save a file. Click Save As, and then choose Desktop in the Save In box. Click the Create A New Folder button, and voila.

Next, close the program and open the blank folder on your desktop. From there, you should be able to get to My Computer, and everything else on the hard drive.

I'm sure someone here is smart enough to use this knowlage, and expand on it... Maybe figure out a way to DISABLE BESS or any other filters...

BattlePenisofOdin

I'm sure someone here is smart enough to use this knowlage, and expand on it... Maybe figure out a way to DISABLE BESS or any other filters...

That's what.

My best friend has figured out how to make himself an Admin of the school's computers... But the *BEEP* won't tell me how he did it. He said "Figure it out on your own!" -_-

I've been trying to do so for a VERY long time, and now... I understand. I'm not computer-smart enough.... Maybe someone here is smart enough to figure it out.

Oh, and btw...

I've seen his account, and I have checked it out... He really DID become an administrator.... (At least computer-power-wise...)

THAT'S what it has to do with getting online.

He figured out how to disable BESS when he wants to, but he always turns it back on, so he won't get caught.

Fabuluke
April 14th, 2006, 01:30 PM

Then we'll be put on an offense we can't sustain. There are so many proxies out there that there is no way for them to block all of them. Taking over every system would require us to get unprecedented amounts of hackers all working as a team. Besides, new systems would pop up just like proxies and we wouldn't be able to hijack every system.

Yeah. Buddy, this is illegal, and probably breaks the terms of service, that you should have had to agreed to in the first place to use the internet.
Last time I checked, this forum doesn't want to have someone raving about why we should, "Hack the School".

Less than two months technically doesn't constitute a revival of an old thread...or so I've been led to believe.

I'd like to point out you can get emails from StupidCensorship every few days when they set up a new one.

Peopl who make those proxy sites are very dumb. Things are blocked from kids for a reason!

Her parents think she's 9.
If she were, would it matter?

SciVille
February 22nd, 2008, 07:33 PM
I said that almost THREE YEARS AGO! I had to go back through the thread to even see what the hell that was referring to!

And I know what I was talking about now that I reread that part, but I don't quite understand your issue with it. I was just implying that her stupid parents didn't acknowledge that she was a legal adult, not saying that if she were only 9 their actions would necessarily be okay.

You've got to stop picking fights. ;)

It's actually easy to be hypersensitive, and see ageism where there is none.

Wow, I remember the days when I would keep this list totally up to date, now its several years old.

How about!

Can you download through a proxy?

Kev
September 15th, 2008, 12:40 AM
Yes, but your download speeds are going to be slower than a 90 year old double amputee running the Pikes Peak Ascent. And don't call me an ageist  I said it to mean that his health isn't in top shape anymore.

By the way, is anyone in favour of moving this to the Wiki? It would be much eisier to maintain, and it would be a great resource for students. I just want some volunteers to help maintain it, because I have NO time with school and work, and the minimum 5 hours a day I must spend online

Seriously. Only the public library where I live has free access.

Kev
April 29th, 2009, 01:30 PM
I haven't really maintained this list lately. I recommend getting on peacfire's circumventor distribution list. They send out new proxies all the time and you can use them until you're blocking software adds it to the blacklist.

Just thought I'd ask; since no-one else seems to be mentioning it, I'm either an idiot or this is the usual price of proxies. Is there a way to get rid of all the damned ads interfering?

Adblock

Sophie

I use that. The little check-box that says "no ads", I mean. It does seem simplistic, and it doesn't seem to work.

Try it. I hope you fry something of yours to prevent you from ever reproducing.

I wonder if you could boot a live linux image off a thumbdrive on a school computer? If so, you could probably bypass any blocking software installed on the terminal itself. Only stuff installed on the network would cause problems for you.
