Tempus Fugit

Since being appointed to the position of Assistant South Regional Director on Wednesday, March 16, I have been working closely with Mr. Oliver, my supervisor.
I am excited to have been given this opportunity. Some of our actions since then have included...
...contacting the chapter founders in Alabama, Florida, and Arkansas by electronic mail, without any substantive responses. Upon researching member records, we found that 62 people in the South had filed chapter intents. We contacted these people by electronic mail as well, but a large number were returned by the servers. We have not received substantive responses from these contacts, either.
...contacting two people that lived in my county about my forming chapter, without any affirmative responses.
...writing a letter to the editor. We plan on sending letters to the editors of the 30 largest newspapers in the region. We have draft versions prepared, and are currently looking into opportunities for publication.
I am still interested in obtaining a logo for my chapter and the letterhead with my title and address with the NYRA logo.
In the future, we plan on increasing our fundraising depth, and on having an annual convention for chapters in South Region. The convention, however, remains to be scheduled, and will most likely become an annual event in 2006.
Thanks for your interest in youth rights.
